Terms of Service

Last updated: June 17, 2026 · Effective: June 17, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Ghost Compiler platform. By accessing or using https://ghostcompiler.in — including its API, developer dashboard, blog, and repository directory — you agree to be legally bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

1. About the Platform

Ghost Compiler (referred to as "we", "our", or "the platform") is an independent open-source developer directory and publishing platform at ghostcompiler.in. It allows developers to:

  • Discover and browse open-source SDKs, Laravel packages, Plesk extensions, and developer tools
  • Publish technical blog posts for the developer community
  • Link and showcase public GitHub repositories in the directory
  • Access the platform programmatically via an API using personal access tokens

2. Account Registration & Eligibility

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account on Ghost Compiler. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2.2 Account Creation

You may register with:

  • An email address and password (subject to email verification)
  • An existing Google or GitHub account via OAuth

2.3 Account Security

You are solely responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Keeping your account information accurate and up to date
  • Immediately reporting any unauthorised access to hello@ghostcompiler.in

Ghost Compiler implements mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA) for all accounts. You must complete 2FA verification at every login using either a TOTP authenticator app or a one-time password sent to your registered email address.

2.4 Account Responsibility

You may not share your account credentials with any third party. Each account is intended for use by a single individual. Accounts created on behalf of organisations may be used by authorised representatives of that organisation.

3. User Content & Repository Linking

3.1 Blog Posts

Users with an active, verified account may submit blog posts for publication. All blog posts are subject to administrator review and approval before becoming publicly visible. You retain ownership of content you submit; however, by submitting, you grant Ghost Compiler a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, archive, and promote your content on the platform.

You must not publish content that:

  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Contains spam, promotional material unrelated to software development, or misleading information
  • Includes harmful code, malware references, or instructions for illegal activity
  • Is harassing, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or discriminatory

3.2 Repository Linking

Users may submit public GitHub repository links for inclusion in the directory. By submitting a repository, you confirm that:

  • The repository is publicly accessible on GitHub
  • You are either the author, maintainer, or have explicit permission from the owner to list it
  • The repository does not contain malicious software, backdoors, crypto-miners, or code designed to harm users
  • The repository is genuine and not submitted for spam, SEO manipulation, or artificial promotion purposes

Submitted repositories are reviewed by administrators before approval. Administrators reserve the right to reject, approve conditionally, or remove any submitted repository at any time without prior notice.

3.3 API Token Usage

Registered users may generate personal API access tokens from their dashboard. These tokens can be used to submit new repository links via the Ghost Compiler REST API. You are responsible for keeping your API tokens secure. Tokens should not be shared publicly (e.g., in code commits, public repositories, or forum posts). Ghost Compiler rate-limits API usage to 30 requests per minute per token.

4. Moderation & Editorial Rights

Ghost Compiler maintains the right and responsibility to moderate all user-submitted content to preserve platform quality and integrity. This includes the right to:

  • Approve or reject blog posts and repository submissions
  • Remove previously approved content if it is later found to violate these terms
  • Deactivate or permanently ban user accounts that repeatedly or severely violate guidelines
  • Edit metadata (titles, slugs, descriptions) for clarity or SEO correctness — without altering the substance of user content

Moderation decisions are made by platform administrators and are final. If you believe a moderation action was made in error, you may appeal by contacting hello@ghostcompiler.in.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Ghost Compiler platform to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, server infrastructure, or protected routes
  • Perform automated scraping, bulk data harvesting, or denial-of-service attacks
  • Submit repositories or blogs containing or promoting malware, phishing tools, or illegal software
  • Impersonate another person, developer, or organisation
  • Circumvent rate limits, authentication mechanisms, or security controls
  • Submit false, misleading, or fabricated project descriptions
  • Use the platform for cryptocurrency mining, click fraud, or any other abusive automated behaviour

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Platform Ownership

The Ghost Compiler platform — including its design system, user interface, source code, branding, and domain — is the proprietary property of Ghost Compiler. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or modification of the platform is prohibited.

6.2 Open-Source Projects

Individual open-source projects listed in the directory carry their own licences as declared in their respective GitHub repositories (e.g., MIT, GPL, Apache 2.0). Ghost Compiler does not claim ownership of any indexed open-source project. Users interacting with these projects must comply with the respective project licences.

6.3 Your Content

You retain full ownership of blog posts and repository submissions you make on the platform. You grant Ghost Compiler a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute (via the website, API, or sitemap), and promote your content within the platform. This licence terminates when you delete your content or your account is removed.

7. Third-Party Services

The platform integrates with:

  • GitHub API — for fetching repository metadata, README files, and release data
  • Google OAuth / GitHub OAuth — for social login authentication
  • Email delivery — for sending verification, OTP, and notification emails

These integrations are governed by the respective third parties' terms and privacy policies. Ghost Compiler is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these external services.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Ghost Compiler is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free availability of the platform
  • Accuracy or completeness of repository metadata fetched from GitHub
  • The quality, security, or fitness for purpose of any open-source project listed in the directory
  • That user-submitted blog posts are factually accurate

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ghost Compiler and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or damages resulting from use of any open-source package discovered on the platform.

9. Service Availability & Modifications

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue the platform (or any feature thereof) at any time with or without notice
  • Update these Terms of Service at any time; continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms
  • Change API rate limits, feature availability, or submission policies

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes via the platform or email.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms of Service, engage in prohibited conduct, or if continued access poses a security risk to the platform or other users. Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately.

You may also delete your account at any time by contacting hello@ghostcompiler.in.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
